YJ Dash Paint

My Jeeps theme is Black and Red. I painted the Drivers Side Dash Black, Middle Red, and i am trying to paint the Passenger side Black.
This matches my Neoprene Seats that are Black-Red-Black. What do you think?

Hahah it's funny how similar our ideas/jeeps are. I was going to do this when it warms up a bit (but make the gauge bezels red and the rest black) and my clutch grip thing fell off as well and I'm missing the ashtray. Looks good, let's see it finished!
Btdubs sorry this is such an old thread

What paint works on these pieces? You would think it would come off fairly easy.

It seems like a lot of people on here are using krylon fusion for the dash.

Oh sweet...I'm thinking of painting my jeep the krylon Camo Khaki and now I may just have to do the dash that color. Any tips on cleaning the pieces using some sort of degreaser before applying paint?

From what I've read, that would work. Check out some of these links:

https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/so...-dash-1016805/

https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/d...l-paint-59281/

https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/p...ash-yj-344790/

I kno there's quite a few more out there that I read through but I can't find them right now. Try searching "custom dash" or "painting dash". There should be some good results

I used Rustoleum vinyl paint on my dash and it worked great. It's been just over a year and even after the Vegas summer it still has no chalking or fading.

After:

As for prep, I washed it well in the kitchen sink, which didn't thrill the wife at all, using some dish detergent. After letting it dry completely I wiped all surfaces with rubbing alcohol.

Love it, too! The red-white-blue is a small detail that makes everything look perfect.
