seatbelt chime (really a dog-whistle scream)

Ok, thanks for letting me in. Just bought this jeep (factory RHD 1996 Cherokee) for my mail route. We have to wear our seatbelt ALL the time, and I do, so no problem there. But, that sound when the belt is not on - moving to the next house, or sitting while warming up, etc - is ear piercing!!!!
I tried the buckle/unbuckle thing that everyone posted. It didn't work. But, the sound isn't from the buckle, it's from the belt tension. Like I can pull on the belt a little and it will turn off. Anyway to make that go away?!?!? Help! Thanks!

Seatbelt extender. It extends the seatbelt a few inches and can make it easier to belt in.

I think the OP was looking for a way to disable the chime, probably by disconnecting a wire or relay or fuse. Anyone with that fix? Appreciated!
