I installed the RPM Motorsports Torque Tube. Changed the sound of the intake growl to a nice subtle growl under WOT. Seems that plastic resonator or whatever its called did just that, resonate up through the firewall and caused a lot of buzzing behind the dash. Acceleration feels better but it's only been a few hours since install. Went in easy except for band clamp for TB wasn't large enough so I had to get a bigger clamp to finish install. Upon inspection of the resonator I noticed it is a smooth tube with @ 3/4" square hole leading into the exterior chamber. I suppose it could be plugged (Spray foam???) and it would essentially be just the same as the torque tube saving $100. Don't know what the purpose of this contraption is. Though I like K&N products and have used them for many years on all my vehicles and motorsport toys I would probably recommend a different system that is compleat from TB to filter due to cost, or maybe someone will try to plug the stock resonator chambers and let us know how that works out.

I picked up my new 2017 Jeep Cherokee Latitude today. 12 miles on it.

Entered it into the Jeep registry on this site too.

I changed my oil yesterday. I went with the Shaeffer's 9000 full synthetic motor oil. I've heard nothing but the highest praise on the Shaeffer's products, and most of that was from customers who I use to help when I use to work in auto parts.

Went to Panamint Springs, Lone pine, Kennedy Meadows, and Ridgecrest areas last weekend, got a small bubu on the front bumper! Also discovered the benefits of the rock rails (and cringe).

Definitely learning how to off road more, I'd still like to get the lift installed.

just curious, does the heat shield work pretty well? I am really trying to avoid having a hot air intake in my KL, lol.

Seems to work just fine, plenty of airflow from under and front, not noticed any issues. Taking a trip out west to Arizona later this year but with air temps in the 115+ Deg. heat shield or not it's a hot air intake.

I see. I am just curious about the temperature difference when comparing stock air box and quality short ram w/ heat shield.

What did I do with my KL today? I bought it and also bought a Magnaflow catback for it. I'm excited about it. I'll fabricate a CAI for it maybe tomorrow. Is the Jet Chip any good? Thanks.

2015 3.2 L Spark Plug change

Replace spark plugs today (save over $500 from stealer) -- used YouTube to help walk through the many disconnects and tips to remove intake manifold. Took about 2.5 hours plus a couple of frustration "time-outs"

Most difficult parts: remove air intake resonator box (broke retaining tab) and removing hidden bolt separating wire loom from engine block (right side) holding manifold bracket (very tedious 1/4 turns w open wrench).
