Wanting to Upgrade Headlights - HID, LED, or what? Any tips?

Hi all! So, I've got a 2016 Cherokee KL Trailhawk, and the lights in it are fine, but since the colder darker months are coming up and my eyesight isn't great I want to upgrade my high/low beams. Light bars I've ruled out, partially because I don't think they're road legal in my state...so what option should I go with? My dad (a mechanic) says HID, my brother (junior mechanic) says LED. I was thinking LED at first but idk about heat issues since the headlight housing looks kinda cramped, and not at all ventilated. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions when it comes to putting better, brighter lights in a Cherokee? thanks in advance!

LED suck balls in Cherokee housings, I"ve tested 3 kits and the housings simply don't work well and you end up with less light.

This kit is 100% plug and play and works great

Hella 9005 100 watt halogens. Off road only, but they work in my projectors.

i have tried the led bulbs. really bright short distance. doesnt carry far at all. i installed the zenon depot cherokee hid kit after returning from last thanksgiving break. I live in a very open desert state with high speed limits. gives much wider illimuniation radius with a good cut off. i can see speed limit signs illuminate from 3 miles away. many times better than the factory halogens.

With the HID conversion bulbs, is the beam acceptable and not scattered like an LED bulb install?

Just wondering how it appears to oncoming traffic.
