2017 Cherokee flashes "Hill Descent unavailable" once you start driving

We had an issue with our brakes and a Hill Descent unavailable light flashed on the dash. Not it flashes every single time you start to drive away for the first time. We have had two other Cherokee's and have never seen this message before. We have a wrangler which has a button for it. This Cherokee doesn't even have a button. What is going on?

It should be outlined in your owners manual.

If you cannot fix it with a hammer then it has to be an electrical problem.

It only speaks about how to activate it “if equipped” which it’s not in our jeep. That’s the point of my post. The car is telling us it’s not available but it’s not even a feature of the car (that I know of).
