YJ Rail Channel .

Has any one made their own rail channel for the tub. Bought a cargo net and my Jeep came with just a hard top. Run a bikini top all summer.. Thanks

Well, here's my problem solver: Couldn't find tailgate bars for my deck cover so I made my own. Of course, you'll note that the rear tail is a flat plate (ala CJ style), different than a stock YJ tail, but it should give you a workable idea.

It's 2 pieces. I used an 'S' shaped piece from aluminum screenings for the bottom that bolts into the tail and attached a 1" x 1/16 flat bar over that to create a channel for the hard edge of the cover. The hex heads are 4/40 threads drilled and tapped into the aluminum and tail gate. The black, 'door edging' was added to spread stretching strain on the vinyl cover.

Doing the tub sides would be a different bend, and attach with the stock bolts, but hope this gives you an idea.
