Roll Cage

I have a 1973 Jeep CJ5 very stock and clean. I'm trying to find info or a manufacturer for extending the stock roll bar forward to the windshield and attaching to the sides of the dash rather than going down to floor board like most roll cages. I'm tall and getting stiffer in my old age so I want to keep the access open as much as possible. I also want to add a couple of center tubes so I can mount CB and Radio in a protected and have easy access. I've seen a couple of pictures online but that's it. I would appreciate any ideas or help. Thanks

Take a look at Rockhard 4x4 on the web. Most of their stuff is modular assembly and nice looking. They have a CJ bar that is close to what you asked about. I think it's easier (unless you're a good welder) to start with a 'package' that comes close to your final idea and mod from there.

Roll cage

Thanks for the info. I did see that one and it looks pretty good. However, I was hoping to find one that I could weld into place like the OR-FAB 82086 shown on Summit Racing web site, but is no longer available. Bummer, may have to make my own and find someone with a tube bender. Not giving up hope yet though.

What's your end goal? More safety in a roll over or a place to mount overhead accessories? If you wanted extra safey from this I don't see a good way mounting it to the dash would work.

This. I'm going to just go ahead and bend myself up some DOM tube and make it safer too. I have the factory hoop in my '74 and want the forward bars for accessories. I really just wanted the stuff Rockhard has but I ain't no rich man so I'll do it myself. It'll be a proper job too, all the way to the frame. I'll buy extra tubing. Lol!

Whenever I run across a deal, I've no money. When I've money, I've no time. Can't catch a break!
