I've done some research on metal brakes and I've found a couple sources on how to make your own. Post up your thoughts or projects!:cheers2:

Miller metal brake --> http://www.millerwelds.com/interests...bending-brake/

Forum thread on one ---> http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=2048
And a couple pics from the above thread on a homemade one, makes sense if you look at it close enough... (this is my fav, and may be the next project on my list :D)

Another sheet metal brake plan --> http://bd-4.org/bendingbrake.html

And another from a forum---> http://www.toolandfab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=599

The previous Link got his idea from these plans ---> http://www.majorleagueduning.com/tech/Brake/Brake.htm

i made this small and really simple "brake" to help bend up some light gauge metal for some switch boxes i made once.

it was made to be clamped into a table vise and also used a set of vise grip pliers as the pull handle. there is a small piece of strap that would get clamped down on top of the piece.

it worked well for what i had at the time (in an apartment). it was able to turn this:

into this:

Your links just inspired me to start another one. I have a "modified" HF 36" that I can bend 1/8" with.
