draw a line where the center of the tube would be.. draw a circle at the end of the line and then use the "follow me" tool you can use angled corners to make it like 2 pcs of pipe are being welded together there or you can use arched lines to look like its getting bent.

Impressive solidworks/catia I see all the time.. impressive sketchup is notable. Well done, sir. I didn't think sketchup was capable of that kind of work.

That trailer looks very professional. Nice work.

I'm gonna have more free time this semester and I might have to use the school's computers to model up some parts myself.

This was my first (and so far only) attempt at Sketchup. I think it turned out OK.

well guys im almost done with the trailer as far as CAD goes, just the license plate light/bracket adn the rear tire carrier left to do, I'm am going to start order parts and materials tomorrow. to satisfy my advisor at school i have to do some loading calculations, for that i am going to use some ANSYS. Anyways here is the rear bumper I came up with and another shot of trailer, i didnt go into as much detail as far as tire tread and what not as some of you did, but i got all the necessary parts. I am nearly done with all of the engineering drawings for the entire trailer assem as well. There will be a tire carrier incorporated into the rear bumper, i am going to work on that tonight...like i said i am not done yet

I'm taking an advanced solidworks course this semester. I had intro to solidworks last summer. I'm going to take a certification test in May.

I have solidworks 2010 for free at home through school, but only for 1yr. I should be able to get another license this summer though.

I'm going to design a hawse fairlead for short drum winches (like my T-max ew9000 or the warn 9.0RC) that will bolt to the traditional width mounts. (I have to use an adapter plate between the winch plate and the hawse). I'm then going to cut it out of 6061 Aluminum for my advanced CNC class on a HAAS mill.

It's not exciting but I'll post up pics of the design and finished product when I'm done.

.

Welcome to the forum!

Check out flatlander757's build, he used a design similar to your idea for leafs on his TJ. It is a pretty awesome build. Here's the thread.
