88 YJ soft top spreader upgrade

Hi all,
My soft top spreader bars were shot so while walking around home despots I realized that with some 1/2 emt I could make some new non failing spreaders for $5 and about 30mins of work.
Well I get it home measure once and cut it righ the first time.
They were 31" on my 88 Heep so I cut the emt to 33" and flattened each end about a inch.
I then drilled a 1/4" hole in each end spaced 31.5" apart. This gave me a little more stretch and really tightned things up.
Well 2 days later the back spreader mount breaks so I get 2 2" long 1/4 X20 coach bolts nuts n washers. Coach bolts have a nice round head so they won't damage my new sail cloth top and they are galvanized so they won't rust.
I then drill the hoop that the spreaders were mounted to (after removing the top) and old mounting hardware, install the coach bolt with 2 nuts to provide the required spacing.
The protruding bolt gives me a solid mount for the rear of the spreaders, secure with a washer n nut.
All is solid cant fail top is nice n tight and I am a happy camper.

Im sure anyone that has had to jerry rig the old broken setup will know what I am talking about and will be able to duplicate my repair if needed.
If you have any questions just ask I may be able to shoot some pics if needed.

Dwayne
