Will A Laredo Rear Bumper Fit A Limited?

So I have a 04 Grand Cherokee Limited.

I always wanted a trailer hitch on mine, so instead of paying $150-$200 for a new one, I went over to the local junkyard.
It had just rained - Bad.
I thought since the whole place "seemed" to be on a flat surface, it'd be no big deal.
Apparently no, the whole place is one big f*cking crater.
Wouldn't you know, the Jeeps were all located at its center.
So the vast majority of Jeeps were under at least 6 or 7 inches of gasoline water, some more.
There were only 2 Jeeps that were not underwater, and did not have all their weight being supported on the trailer hitch.
A 2002 Laredo, and a black Limited.
The Limited's bumper cover was all scuffed up, and the trailer hitch had more rust than the Laredo's.
So I ended up taking the Laredo's bumper and hitch.
I still had matching paint left over from when I fixed my wheelwell, so I thought no big deal.
I never noticed that the Laredo's design is different from the Limited, it's more "squarish".

So before I waste a bunch of time and expensive paint on the bumper, will it fit on my Limited no problem?

Yes it will fit.

However you may have some issues with the finish if you're planning on painting it to match. The Laredo cladding wasn't really meant for a painted finish.

What about using the Limited bumper that is currently on the car? Is the trailer hitch trim piece the same for Limited and Laredo bumpers?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that would require me to hack up my bumper.

I'm honestly not sure, but the limited at the junk yard had a different bumper than mine. The trailer hitch area was cut out with a trim piece as a frame.

Correct. The procedure for the trailer hitch trim piece is to cut the rear bumper. Someone may have the template or you might be able to find one online. Here are the instructions for install:

Yes, and the Laredo uses the same trim piece.

From the factory all bumper covers (regardless of trim level) came without the trailer hitch cutout. If you look at the inside of your non-cutout Limited bumper cover you will find the molding marks on the inside of the bumper cover that show you what to cut out to fit the trim piece. This is also referenced in the link to WJJeeps that was posted earlier.

Upon install of the trim piece the factory melted the small plastic stand offs that were molded into the trim piece to hold it in place against the bumper cover. You will need to carefully cut those off in order to remove it from the Laredo bumper cover. At that point you can use some plastic rivets (similar to what you remove from the rear wheel well liners when you remove the rear bumper cover) to attach it to your Limited bumper cover. The other option is to use some 3M double sided tape to attach it, since you have a Limited this should work rather well compared to trying to use this method with the Laredo cover.

If your Laredo cover isn't cutout with the trim bezel then that Jeep had a non-OEM trailer hitch installed which will hang down lower to clear the bumper cover.
