Wj What's the longest road trip anyone has done in their WJ?

I've been going over the "new" to me Overland so she's ready for some long-distance driving during the holidays, and it got me wondering what's the longest road trip anyone has done in their WJ?

Distance is no issue as long as driveline parts are in good shape.
I drive mine Canada to Florida 2x every year for her life.
You just have to do maintenance as required. Fluids, brakes belts etc.
Now if yours is a northern one (aka Salt) then you have to add rust into the mix. So things that can rust have to be watched too. Like suspension parts, brake lines/cables, etc

Did you remove the belt and check everything for smoothness? Alternator, Waterpump, AC Clutch, Idlers and tensioner? Those are what can strand you at the side of the road.

How many miles on your Overland?

Yep, already pulled the drive belt to check it, and gave all the pulley items a once-over.

Leaving from southern MO tomorrow for Vegas. Should be interesting to see how it runs over a long haul.

Christmas and New Year's is when I'll be putting some miles on, gonna be all over the SE and possibly TX.

About 12 years ago, (in my 2000 WJ, 4.7L), I bought a boat in Houston, drove there to pick it up, turned around and drove right back. That was 2400 continuous miles, half it towing a really heavy boat ...and a bunch of coffee.

A few years later, drove to Massachusetts for X-mas. Immediately upon arrival, learned the pet sitter let out an indoor-only animal and it was lost.
Didn't even unload.
Fueled up and drove right back. That was 1300 miles. (Animal came back home in a few days.)
Been driving back & forth to MA a few times each year since (in the '04 Freedom and Overland) but the trip up is usually broken up by an overnight stay.

I have a Cherokee 2016 active drive ii:

Recently went on a 8600 mile, 106 hours of drive time across 21 states and the district of Columbia trip. Started and ended in California.

Learned a ton about America and 93 octane other states have. I used 91/93 the entire trip.

Loved Utah with it's 80 mph speed limits!

Drove one stent for 24 hours straight (from Virigonia to Texas) with no problems with my engine or oil/tranny temp. Didn't turn it off once, not even to fill up my tank.

Did some lovely off roading in 3 states, this throwing off my alignment for the last 6 of the total 13 day road trip.

Go get it guys!

Since now I am residing in Greece, ramping up the miles is a little hard (the whole country is roughly 700miles North to South border!).

But time-wise? 9 full days of complete off road to noman's land is my kind of road trip

Have over 185K miles on mine. In the past year, have driven from southern MO to Savannah, GA (~800-825 miles) and back. Did another 500 miles to TX in the dead of summer. Multiple 2-300 mile trips. Just drove back from TX to MO this past weekend and then going to be headed to GA for Christmas. After Christmas I'll be going from GA to AZ while pulling a trailer from Arkansas on. This recent trip will be over 3200 miles in a span of 2 weeks when its all said and done.

I'll be making that same drive in a few days, along with a trip down through Texas. Looking forward to it.
