What 16" Steel Rims Fit?

Hello,

I have always disliked aluminum rims. I'm looking for some 16" steel rims to swap onto my WJ. Where should I look? This is a new bolt pattern over the ZJ, isn't it?

Thanks.

Josh

Dodge journey wheels are the same at least for the 17" steelies according to Canadian tire.

16" JK steelies will fit, I run my winter tires on them.

It's a 5x5 bolt pattern (aka 5-on-5). Oem backspace 6.5 inch on a 16" rim will clear the tie rods. That's a lot of backspace, most of the wheels I have looked at are 5.5 or less, so basically any 16" or 17" rim will fit. On 15" rims you have to worry about tie rod clearance so you must be more careful about backspace; make sure you have room. But I cannot tell you what max backspace is on 15". Somebody here knows, though.

The newer (I want to say 08+?) Town and Country is the same bolt pattern and hub bore as well. WK's and JK's have the same pattern but other than some very early 05's all WK's only fit 17's.

I am running Unique 297 wheels, a copy of the classic Cragar soft 8 wheel. 16x7 with 0 offset. they stick out more then stock, but works with my setup.
IIRC, most 16" wheels with 5x5 bolt pattern should fit. 15" are hit or miss, more miss then hit. Having the (worse) Teves calipers give you more room then the Akebono calipers

I'm curious, why the dislike for alloy wheels?

I won't speak for the OP, but for me, offroad survivability. Alloy is stronger, but alloy breaks when steel bends. You can still drive on a bent wheel, not a broken one.
