track bar,chunk of aluminium

new bar came, its got a "sleeve" of alum clamped near one end. hose type clamp around 2, 1/2 in "c" shaped things about 2 inches long.
it looks important! well done but what is it?


closer look. rubber sleeves inside and its steel.
now it does look impt...

It's just a vibration/noise damper. They all came with one from the factory.

My guess is for vibrations or noise.

i dont think my 4 jeeps have it. book pix doesnt show it?
but ok by me.

My factory track bar has one. 2002 Laredo 4x4 Up-Country model.

Maybe it was year-specific? Mine is a '02 as well (Loaded Laredo with the 4.0 & the 242)

The track bar on my '04 Overland has it.

Interestingly, the JKS track bar I installed on my previous WJ didn't come with the vibration dampener.

Here's the rusty old crappy one in my garage that is off my '02. I pulled it off about 7 years ago when I added my lift.

I think it has about 130k on it.

No idea why I still have it.. LOL.
