Tire Prices

Is it just me or have tire prices gone crazy? Looking for a set of 255/65/17's and I just cant bring myself to pay $800-grand for 4 tires. Even Walmart is high and COSTCO has no deals and carries only 3 different brands in these parts.

Everything has gone up due to rising fuel costs and this current administration. I'm not surprised to see tire prices following the trend.

Having said that, I usually look for tires between that $800-$1000 range because I actually get the mileage rating out of them. I prefer Michelins or higher end Coopers. My 2004 SE WJ isn't lifted, though we go off road with it sometimes. And, oh yeah, we have bad winters here in north west PA, so there's something that I also consider.

What ISNT getting priced higher in USD$ these days? It’s not that things are worth MORE it’s that our dollar is worth-LESS. Much less. It’s designed so that the USGOV doesn’t have to pay interest on its debt. And this robs US of OUR purchasing power.

CRAZY. Get ready for bottom to fall out this fall/winter imho.

Supply chain issues and demand surges are creating volatility in a lot of different market sectors. There's also the inflation aspect, all the money we printed out of thin air last year will come back to bite us later this year and next.

I paid $1100 for a set of 5 265/75-16 Duratracs in March. At the time, SimpleTire had the best delivered price I could find at the time.

You can't get set of tires for $500 anymore. I got my General Grabbers for $500 but that was a smokin' good guy discount. Paper dollars are worth less every year. We have to expect it and adapt. The General Grabbers are still the best deal out there.

I got my Atturo Trail Blade X/T's on DiscountTire.com and love them so far. I got my Cooper Discovery AT/3 from them the time before. Decent prices and can usually get 6 months no interest with there card.

Expect $200-250 per tire and you will not be disappointed.

A new sandwich shop opened in town with standard deli sandwiches for $16 each.

When I was a boy I went to see a movie on a Friday night for $3 which would get you a ticket, popcorn and a drink. Get off my lawn.

Glad I still run 235s lol. 75 dollars a tire for Cooper ATs. Right at 100 dollars for some heavy sidewall Indonesian made tire. I can get MTs for about the same price if I shop around. For now I'm sure they'll be going up as well.

I got my ko2s in December and they weren't cheap either. 265/70 16s. The price of tires has absolutely nothing to do with a sitting president. If you believe that then you believe Trump made my tires expensive..lol.

Anything that gets here via container ship is going to get very expensive. So basically everything. Brokers are jockeying for position to get slots on container ships with the highest bidder winning, our shipping costs have tripled in the last 4 weeks IF we can even get a slot or worse keep one we already had, they will sell your slot right out from under you. This is what happens when there are many more containers than slots on ships for them.
