Replacement Key / Remote

Need a spare key (and remote) for my 02.. here's some I've found:

Rock key for $21:

http://www.quadratec.com/products/55216_901.htm

plain key for $15:

http://www.fobkeyless.com/2002-JEEP-...ry_c_5224.html

$19 for the key but a better deal on the remote:

https://www.ikeyless.com/vehicles/Je...Cherokee/2002/

Any thoughts on / dealings with these?

Tom

They all should work just fine, but you still have to pay the dealer to program the keys... :-(

Check with the local Locksmith, they might have the equipment to reprogram for less than the stealership.

I read online (perhaps here) that there's a procedure to self-program a fob if you've got 1 working and 1 needing programming. I need to give it a try myself because I need to program one. I don't have a link but Google is your friend lol.

Yes, if you have the 2 original keys you can easily program the 3rd one.
Check http://www.wjjeeps.com/sentry.htm

My bad! I was thinking it was the FOB (remote) that needed to be reprogrammed, not the key itself. I gave the right answer to the wrong question!! My apologies. I took a look at the link from allenrotstein and realized I was in error. I'd printed out a procedure to reprogram the remote but didn't print out where I got it. I'll see if I can find it, but it appears this isn't the OP's original question. Sorry!

-edit, there is a TSB with instructions on how to self-program the remote (FOB), located here: http://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wj_0800702.pdf in case this would help anyone.

You can't self-program the remote (FOB).
