Repair options for rear upper spring perch?

The tower part of the rear upper spring perch has rotted away on a friend's WJ. Are there any bolt-in aftermarket repair options, or is it a case of fabricating something or trying to find a decent one in a junkyard? The Mopar part (#2 in the diagram) now seems to be discontinued.

Shouldn't be that hard to find a donor. Been a while since I've had my rear suspension apart, but that diagram doesn't look right for a WJ. I don't recall parts 3 or 4.

I would be concerned how much more rot is hiding on your friends Jeep. Worst area for rot is the lower control arm mounts on the body. the frame rail likes to rot out there and as far as I know, there is no repair parts for that.

X2 on the rust concerns, that's a thick piece of metal to have rotted away, there's much thinner body panels it attaches to I'd be looking at.

It's straight from the WJ parts catalog. I think the parts you query are for Up Country suspension only - #3 is listed as "Spacer, jounce bumper". My WJ doesn't have UC, and hence doesn't have those parts.

Thanks for the heads-up on the rust, I'll let him know.

I have upcountry now I don't remember a bolt but there is an isolator the spring sits in.

That's what I recall. Upper perch, isolator, spring, isolator, lower perch, with the bump stop fitting into a sleeve on on perch, and the other having a solid surface for it to hit.
