Radiator petcock drip

99 GC 4.7, runs 210 or less temp, petcock small drip, tried new o ring, new petcock plug, silicon gasket sealers-that stuff dries to a nice rubbery texture but eventually blows out (btw the plug still removed easily). Note, I am talking about still using the plug but covering it with sealer. THE FIX-Permatex #1 dries hard! Drip gone. Probably cant pull petcock plug, but can pull lower hose if needed -HOT tip, get a cement mixing tub (cheap) when you drain to catch everything, YOUR DRIVEWAY WILL LOVE YOU.

That o-ring configuration is awful.
I always have to loosen the plug a little to find the point at which it is not in too tight in order for the o-ring to seal and not leak.

You're really just better off taking some PVC cement and permanently sealing not only the petcock plug but also that big plug at the top of the radiator beneath the filler neck (if so equipped). These radiators don't last long enough to make draining them completely through the petcock really necessary anyway.

Rage! Rage against the dying of the Jeep.
