PLEASE HELP clicking in the front end!

Hey all. I have an 02 Overland with QuadraDrive with 149k. I have been trying to find a noisy bearing in the front end. I have replaced the cv axels, the U-joints are solid. I have recently changed fluid in the T-case and front dif. The wheel bearings felt good when i had them off. When you jack up the front end the tires will not spin freely even with everything in neutral. Is it possible theres a problem with the veri lok system? Any help appreciated.

I had a "mystery rattle" that I could hear at slow speeds (like in parking garages). It turned out to be the washers at the top of the front shocks. I tightened the nuts, rattle gone.

I hope yours is as simple as that...

Vari Loc still works even with everything in neutral, so thats not your problem.

I assume by the title, the noise is a clicking noise, I had that once and it was the boot on the CV joint was not in the correct position. It was compressed to short and caused the noise. Pulled it out a bit longer and problem went away.

After replacing the tranny in my 04 a few months ago, I had a front end noise that drove me crazy. I was fearing the worst. Turned out to be the transfer case cable rubbing on the front drive shaft on occasion. I could see a wear mark on the shaft. I just wire tied it up a little higher and problem solved. I didn’t even have to jack the truck up to check or repair. It probably isn’t you’re problem, but it only takes a minute to check. It really made a hell of a racket !

That sounds like the vari-loks are working - you should only be able to turn one wheel freely for a short time before it starts to 'engage' the clutch to stop it spinning (to stop diverting 'drive' to a spinning wheel etc).

The clicking could be something stuck in/around the brakes?
