Need Help

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee Quadra trac II 4.7 v8. I'm having trouble finding the right cv axles for the front. First I got the standard. And now I have the select trac and with the jeep on Jack stands and the wheels off including the caliper hub and wheel bearings when you turn it it still makes noise and it seems like they keep popping out. Am I not installing them correctly, am i missing some parts or is my cv axles not the right size

I don't know what it means when you say you have QT II , first you got the standard, and now you have Select trac. Axle shafts should be the same for those two front axles.

If you install the axle shafts and wheel bearing hubs correctly, then nothing should pop out.

There are front axle shafts that fit ONLY WJ's that have VariLok differentials in the axles. These came from the factory only on QuadraDrive equipped WJ's (but could have also been swapped into other rigs over the years). All other variants of the WJ use a standard front axle shaft. The only difference is in the length of the shafts, as the VariLok internals move the axle splines in the diff over an inch to one side. Here is a thread that lists the correct lengths for each axle: https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/...06/index2.html
