metric?,sae?, or???

getting new windshield,looks like wipers come off so i thought id prep that to save the guy time. took caps off,grabbed a hand full of wrenches.
mm, 14 and 15 no fit,one on each side.
sae, 9/16 aqnd 5/8, no fit one on each side.
no fit!! is there a third!!


loosened with vice grips...?

If you're talking about the nuts holding on the wiper arms my 04 uses a 15mm socket. See info/photo #13 below and how I removed the arms w/o a puller.

14 tight,no fit. 15 loose slips around. vice grip is fine...

I haven't found a factory nut or bolt that wasn't metric. Is the nut rounded so the 15mm doesn't fit well? Also, after you get the nut off, a wiper arm removal tool makes things easier.

well,well,well, fooled again,me! took a 14 and the only one bigger in that pile,hard to read .
found my 15 later,yeah it fits!!
my eyes and their numbers...

You and me both.
I broke down and bought the Easy Read 300 piece every socket we make Craftsman set.
Got what I think was a great deal on it. $215.
Unfortunately Craftsman tools not being what they used to be the etching kind of sucks on them.
But still easier then trying read the sizes on regular sockets though. LOL.
