@Mofugly13

1999 WJ Limited, 4.0

3 IRO lift, lower control arms and track bar. JL takeoff wheels and 245/75/17 Bridgestone Dueller A/T tires. Everything else is stock.

The story is that I have a gold claim in the Sierras and the trail to get there is ROUGH. I had a Suzuki Samurai that I took there, but doing 120 miles on the freeway to get to the trail, and being 64 in a little Sammy wasnt the greatest. So I started looking for an XJ. But after looking at a few, still too small for me. Started looking for a WJ. It had to be green, and I found this one with 107,000 on the OD. We agreed on a price and now its mine. Its not meant to be a rock crawler, just a capable ride to get me to my off the beaten path destinations, and it does that perfectly. The photos are of it at the mining claim, with the obligatory flex pose, cause thats what we all want to see, right!

So, see my Jeep, in its natural environment. No driveway, homes, or pavement in the photos. I know that there might be points detracted for that Bronco in the background. But hes family. So I kind of give him a pass, sort of....

@UncleWoody

INTRODUCTION

I have dreamed of doing this project for a long time. I have been reading through this forum for at least the past 3 years to gather as much information as possible. The subject for this project is an 2003 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L V8 with a QD transfer case that I bought is AZ. The vehicle had around 165,000 miles at time of purchase, now it has 170,000.

I recently retired and moved from Tomball TX to Dewey AZ (2017) so the Jeep does not see a lot of DD (maybe once or twice a week). My intent was to hit desert trails and forest roads from easy to moderate rating and be as comfortable as possible.

To that goal I installed an 4 long arm lift kit. I top off this lift with Bilstein shocks and 265/70/17 tires stock rims. While the GC was all apart, I also change all the other steering and suspension components, ball joints, spring isolators, tie rod with ends, drag link with ends, bushings, etc.

SPECIFICATIONS

IRO 4 Rock-Link Long Arm lift kit
IRO transfer case skip plate
IRO Adjustable track bar
Bilstein shocks
General Grabber AT2 tires (265/70/17)
Spidertrax 1.5 wheel spacers
JKS Quicker Disconnects
JKS HD Tie Rod
JKS HD Drag Link
Crown Spring Isolators - all around
Crown motor mounts
Crown transmission mount
Synergy Ball Joints
Moog Tie Rod ends
Moog Drag Link ends
Super Trail Boss HD steering Stabilizer
JCR rock sliders
Mountain Vista D44 skip plate
HK Offroad winch plate
Smittybilt 9500 winch
Tom Woods rear double cardan drive shaft
Midland 75-822 CB radio with Firestik antenna
Dorman Transmission oil pan
Seat covers
Interior LED lights
Stubby rubber radio antenna
