LR window goes down but not up

It's now all the way down....but won't go up.

Is this a common problem? Is there a fix...or do I just need a new regulator?

Thanks,
Jon

Not very common I don't think. Most likely a new regulator will be needed, or there may just be something in the way of the window. Take the panel off and you'll find out.

I don't think it's the cable. I can hear the electric motor click on when I press down, but nothing happens when I press up. I tried the driver's door button and the button on the LR door, neither worked.

I'll try disconnecting the battery just in case it's a weird Chrysler electrical fluke before I tear apart the door.

Very common problem with WJ's and an easy fix. Go on eBay and buy a rebuilt window regulator for less than $100 and install it yourself. If you take it to the stealership, it will cost $400. I found out the hard way. The dealer fixed the first one - I fixed the second one.

I already did the driver's door, I guess this one is up. The battery disconnect didn't work, no luck on the freebie.

Thanks for the input.

Does anyone have the pinout information for that door wiring so I can give it some voltage and see what's up?

I took the door the rest of the way apart, jumped 12v directly to the 2 prong plug coming out of the window motor, it went right up.

Clearly the motor still works, what exactly do I need to replace to exorcise this Chrysler electrical demon?

this happened to me a couple of weeks ago on spring break. all i had to do was pull the door panel, unplug the window switch and plug it back in, worked perfect since. must have just been a loose connection

Since you jumped the plug and it worked. It's the solder connections on the circuit board that cracked. This is a very widely known issue with all these window switches. The easiest fix short of buying a new switch is just to re-solder the connection. It is easy to spot the crack and even easier to re-solder. Typically you would re-solder them all while you have the switch out and spray the switch mechanism with contact cleaner.

This fix is all over You Tube if you want confirmation.
