Just picked up an 01 GC with a P0740 code.

Might have been a silly idea but it was really cheep and my test drive was great. Lol, was it a mistake? There are no freeways around but I guess people have issues with the toque converter and notice it not locking out on the freeway. Welp, at least it was dirt cheap lol.

Ill have to look into the lock up solenoid repair. I saw one video and it didn't look super difficult. Looks like the transmission can stay in?

I would ask is this a 4.0L (42RE) or a 4.8L (545rfe)?
... WHY - I think there are different definitions for p0740.

Are there ANY other codes or issues?
Have you looked at fluid level, color and smell, any particles ?

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.
