Instrument Cluster Bulbs

Two of my bulbs are burnt out and I tried finding replacements with no luck. My manual calls for 103 bulb and PC74 for the warning lights but I read you can fit the PC74 where the 103 should go. I was able to find 6 PC74 from Napa Auto. I wanted to ask before I pull the cluster to make sure the PC74 will work. Thanks

I looked into this a number of years ago and if I remember correctly the answer is yes the smaller bulb will plug in and work. It just may not appear quite as bright.

The 103 bulb is rare and expensive so using the 74 is a common hack. You might like the result better if you switch them all out for consistency, or doing a full LED conversion while you're in there.

When I replaced mine, I made the switch to LED, so I don't have much to offer on your original question of size swapping... but if you'd like to go down the rabbit hole of LED cluster light replacement, here's the thread with everything you need to know!

Here's a 74 and 103 comparison.

Installed the PC74 bulbs in the cluster and climate control worked out great.

Local parts yard will sell them cheap. Grab a handful out of old wj clusters. They are easy enough to pull pretty quickly.
