heated mirror, surprise,surprise

frosty morning, had to hurry, put on defroster and started scraping. noticed pass mirror was melting with a wire pattern showing...never saw that in 2 years i owned it...
not driver side,,,?

Sometimes they do that, my volvo vnl does it sometimes. Like a zig zag I wouldnt worry about it until it stops defrosting.

Also I never scrape my windows because the scraper will scratch the glass id rather waste washer fluid then scratch my glass.

Do your door locks and window switches ever act flaky from the driver controls?

Cracking wiring in the door harness is a common problem in the WJ.

Could be what's causing your driver mirror heat to not operate.

My 2004 only had 100k when I got it and several of the wires in the door harness were cracked.

im thinking that mirror was changed
