I saw this yesterday, I watch a lot of his videos as well, interesting and quality work. If only I could find a 08 manifold that doesn't break the bank

Martin does incredible stuff with his WJ. I was impressed with his ram air hood fabrication.

Thank you!

Should start seeing the 08 intakes in the salvage yards soon. You can find them on ebayfor around $150.00 Salvage yard price $37.00 at the local Pic-a Part.

It increases airflow. More airflow means you can burn more fuel (as computer adjusts fuel ratio). This means better performance.

i suppose if you are racing at 5000 rpm! only at wot...
do the same by modifying linkage to open stock tb faster. a lot less work...

fuel ratio is always the same...

As you stated, fuel ratio is always the same. More air = more fuel to burn, with respect to ratio.

It's also less restriction to air flow, meaning your engine has to work not as hard to pull it. Has nothing to do with throttle response.

Modifying the linkage will not produce more power though. Will only make the gas pedal more touchy (which may be undesirable in precarious offroad situations). There are times when more power is desired other than racing. Towing is a big one. Also countering typical Jeep mods like increased weight from armor, gear, and large tires.

Fuel ratio will be the same. Benefit of modern fuel injection and O2 sensors.

you wont get more power with bigger tb,only touchy pedal. exactly like linkage adjustment.
think it through, its a matter of how much air you let in with pedal push!!

if you got more free power they would make 6 inch tb...

like k n n air intake saying 5 hp gain, but at 5000m rpm where nobody drives,,,very long!

Do you have intrest in this modification or are you just trying to debate something you might not understand?

prove me wrong.
the two can let in the exact same air at different pedal positions. whats to understand??!!
the big one will "feel" faster or snappier and at wot may ? go a little faster.
show some dyno results side by side.
people make claims, like k n n with their cai,not worth the money...

I don't understand this but I'm definitely interested in this debate.

I don't claim to know anything about anything but so far 2oldjeeps argument seems straightforward to me

Is he wrong?
