Gear Ratio Errors 2nd and 4th, 545rfe

Hello,

I just experienced delayed shifting into third from second gear, and into fourth gear from third gear. The fluid is in good shape and full.

This leads me to believe that this is caused by a faulty third gear solenoid.

Kicker is, I just replaced the solenoid pack two years ago on August 18.

Before I blame the reman solenoid pack, is there anything else I should check?

Thank you,
Josh

No other codes? ANY?
a very general troubletree possible causes, checking CVI's and a 2nd and 4th gear clutch test. that is outlined in the manual.

P0732
Set Condition: If the ratio of the Input RPM to the Output RPM does not match the
current gear ratio. .
POSSIBLE CAUSES
RELATED DTCS PRESENT
RELATED PRESSURE SWITCH DTCS PRESENT
INTERMITTENT GEAR RATIO ERRORS
INTERNAL TRANSMISSION

P0734
Set Condition: If the ratio of the Input RPM to the Output RPM does not match the
current gear ratio.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
RELATED DTCS PRESENT
RELATED PRESSURE SWITCH DTCS PRESENT
INTERNAL TRANSMISSION

When I see the price of OEM I think aftermarket.
When I see the quality of aftermarket I think OEM.

There are a few:

P0734 - Error in 4th
P0732 - Error in 2nd

P0888 - Transmission relay always off (This code is present only because I pulled the relay to force limp mode to test for mechanical malfunction, and haven't cleared the codes yet. I induced this code.)

P0740 - TCC out of range (This one has been present for a couple years, and the dang thing doesn't act like it's out of range. I started tracking the issue and then got sidetracked with increased work due to COVID.)

P0155 - O2 sensor 2/1 heater performance, caused by cheap O2 sensors.
P0161 - O2 sensor 2/2 heater performance, caused by cheap O2 sensors.
P0158 - O2 sensor circuit high due to cheap O2 sensors

P1494 - LDP pressure switch, due to a disconnected charcoal canister. Previous owner was hit in the area of the canister, and I unhooked it for now to eliminate any possible vacuum leak.

The only real code really related to the tranny, other than those I already listed, was the TCC. And, it seems to lock up just fine. It only appeared after I replaced the solenoid pack last time.

Edit: Where is the TCC solenoid located in a 545rfe? The TCC code only started after I replaced the solenoid pack.

Thank you.

Josh

OK...

I just found the manual and will be reading it.

However, I have a delay of several seconds shifting from reverse to first. The LR solenoid, if I recall, works to lock the TCC.

Everything seems to point to a bad LR solenoid, methinks. Sound logical?

Regards,
Josh

It looks like a common issue is the accumulator plate breaking.

I have the Jeep in limp mode now, so I have second and third gear. No flare. Also have a valve body and solenoid pack on the way.

Also ordered the aftermarket accumulator plate.

Seems the stock ones are weak and 3rd and 4th gear flare, or loss of those gears, is the result.
