Engine temp?

Hey guys my wj(4.7) has run around 210 since i got it a year ago. The other day it jumped way up(245) while running around town (a lot of red lights, up & down hills) so i checked the fan clutch & it was bad. So i replaced it. Now its running 220/230 around town or idling for a while. Is this the temps everyone else runs or what else could it be? Electric fan works fine as well.

How did you check the fan clutch?

When your temps gets to 220 and you put your heat on hot and high, does the temp drop down?If so its your radiator.

Do not drive with high temps, your engine will fry.

To check my fan clutch i just let warm up, then cut it off & check to see how hard it was to turn. It was completly free. the new one spins twice as fast also. Ill try the heat thing today after i get my lift on. Thanks

You may also want to think about a radiator swap. It's probably due. Check the rad cap too or just get a new one.
