Disconnecting Wire Harness From Rear of Cigarette Lighter/Outlet

A few weeks ago, I installed a Kenwood head unit with Apple Carplay. The unit has a USB cable that I want to make into a flush-mount USB port above the 12v outlet on the passenger side of my console, above the shifters. I have the panel loose from the bottom of my dashboard, the one that holds the cigarette lighter, ash tray, and 12v outlet, but I'm having difficulty unplugging the wiring from these outlets. Is there some lock to these that I'm not seeing, or do I just need to put a bit more grunt into it?

Thank you sir. I know some of these Chrysler connectors from this era had funky, sliding locks that kept the release tab secure. I was working in the dark last night and didn't want to get too crazy with it.

Thanks again Double E. I went back after it this afternoon after work. I was able to remove the panel completely and make the opening I needed for the flush-mount USB cable.

Here is the finished result.

Garage
Nice! Details, please. This is something I would love to do but haven't figured out how to piece it together. Where did you get the flush mount outlet?
