Wj can't get to coolant drain plug on 4.0L block (4wd)

i took the the air box thinking it would give me the room to get to it...but I cant even see it from top OR bottom...seems like it would be behind the exhaust manifold..any tips?

edit: just to be clear i know ballpark where it is but the front differential is completely in the way of it...so im just asking for tips on how to get to it

Biggest tip is not to touch block drain plugs at all. They're notorious for not sealing properly once disturbed, often forcing an engine pull to drill and retap.

If you really want to, though, the FSM says it's under the core plugs just to the left of where the exhaust headers meet the downpipe.

While my 4.7 H.O was out I took liberty of removing them wire wheeling them off and threaded them both back in. They were very tight tbh I tried to remove 1 While my old engine was in and decided against it. I'm 90% sure they'd come out now but the last time I drained my coolant I left them alone.

Yeah, rule of thumb is only touch the drain plugs if the engine is already out.

I mean its just gonna be messy. That was my main reason, didn't want to be under it while getting coolant pouring all over me lol. I'm a princess.

It's also just asking to create a leak that will be the most massive PITA to fix.
