Best exhaust muffler for 4.7 HO ?

I want to replace my stock muffler with one that will make the exhaust tone sound deeper and more "aggressive" but at the same time, I want it to turn heads when I step on it but don't want it to be too obnoxious or have a unbearable drone on the highway. So far I have seen people mainly recommend the flow master super 44 as a first which is then followed by the flow master 50 series at 2nd place; I also had recommendations for adding a dynamax super turbo. What do you guys recommend ?

Contact @Kolak on this site. He comes highly recommended.
Nick is very personable and will walk/talk you thru every option available.
I purchased my entire exhaust system (all behind exhaust manifolds) and am extremely satisfied.

My buddy had a Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 V8 and it sounded awesome with a Thrush welded muffler. I thought they sounded so good I bought some for my Chevy truck but they didn't sound as nice as they did on his Dodge. My Chevy has headers and a little cam so it is louder.

When I get a different exhaust, do the dimensions have to be 18 inches with 2.5 inch inlet and outset ?

I run kolaks 3" exhaust with a 50 series and a magnaflow resonator and its plenty. Noticable in the cabin and outside but not obnoxious. It teeters on being too loud if it was my daily but it's not so fine for my needs. A 44 is going to be loud. I wouldn't do a 44 but that's just me.

I purchased the following and it has worked well. The resonator eliminated the dreaded drone from an aftermarket muffler, but it still sounds aggressive outside without being obnoxious. My muffler guy even commented how it looked exactly like a MagnaFlow (for a fraction of the price)! Total cost, about $175 including installation.

Jones Exhaust 4X9OVAL18 MUF24 OVRALL

Vibrant 1141 2.5" Ultra Quiet Resonator

I run the 50 series Flowmaster, and wish it was just a bit throatier. My son has the magnaflow, and I though that was perfect with a 3" cat back tailpipe...Until My Dad bought a WJ with a borla....It wins hands down. Best sound I have ever heard out of the rear of a WJ.

Borla Muffler or full exhaust? Does it drone?

I have a Flowmaster 50-series on my Suburban. Nice rumble, but not obnoxious, and sounds sweet at foll throttle. However, on long road trips it can be tiring. It is pretty noticeable when running 75-80 MPH for hours on end.

I put a Dynomax Super Turbo 17748 on mine and it sounds excellent. Nice deep rumble at idle and cruising without being obnoxious and no drone at all, very happy with it. I got it with a Cherry Bomb on it, sounded awesome but the highway drone was unbearable.

I used to tease old men who couldn’t handle the exhaust note from their hot rods! Merciliously. …..

Lol, that is for sure. My old Harley still has a rowdy bark though, 12:1 and cams with a profile like a plateau will do that, but it doesn't get riddin for very long periods of time.
