Anyone helicoiled a 42re trans pan?

I'm worried about drilling the tap drill too deep and causing a leak and or damage. Anyone done one that could give me tips? My plan is to go .750" deep with a 21/64 drill bit, then tap.

break the bit so its shorter.
get a clamp on bit so it stops where you want it.

I can stop the drill bit depth, will drilling .750 be too deep? How deep can I go without causing problems?
