4.7 HO Intake Manifold???

Why are the 4.7L HO intakes so hard to find?? Im getting a remaned 4.7HO. EVERY SINGLE engine supplier says not replacing intake manifold VOIDS warranty. Any after market places out there offer new HO manifolds? Please send link I cannot find one. MY builder will clean mine for $150 but it delays shipping a week. So it would be 3 weeks till I get my engine. Trying to beat the ludicrous Arizona heat, it starts getting hot in about a month.

You can get an 08 manifold for $20 at your local pull-a-part.. That bracket you could buy, but I've seen some that have made their own.

Yes, but the catch OP needs either a "new" intake or it has to be professionally cleaned for the remanufactured warranty.

There are write ups that the HO manifold are different than standard 4.7's. They are less restrictive and breathe better.

I know that actual intake is different but the manifold I'm pretty sure is the same. Only exception was 02 I belive. But the 04 was the same for all 4.7s IIRC.

The 2002 HO manifold has shorter runners than the standard 1999-2002 4.7 manifold. Then in 2003 all WJs got a new manifold, one with even shorter runners vs the 2002 HO manifold. 2003 and 2004 model years had the same new, short runner manifold regardless of whether it's a standard 4.7 or an HO.

I found a smoking deal on 2008 intake and cams . $75 bucks and the labor to pull them. Reading what I found it’s not advisable to reuse a used intake. I guess I can pull it apart and see what took the motor out . But being a4.7 I can probably guess. If it dropped a seat or whatever. Would you guys feel safe cleaning it and reusing it?

There is no difference between the 4.7 and the HO manifolds on the 04, they are identical. Scrub it out, put on a new gasket, and go. The warranty void nonsense is likely there to prevent warranty returns on shadetrees screwing up an install and trying to finagle a new motor. If Chrysler isn't manufacturing new intake manifolds and your warranty is void without one, I read that as 'these engines have no warranty, proceed at your own risk'.

Is there proof that the 04 intake manifolds are identical as the 02 HO? Some say they are different.

I used to live and run in the CJ5 and CJ7 world, but then my wife found out about the WHo's and here I am, relearning everything.
My questions about these manifolds is:
1) Do the HO manifold really make a difference?
2) Is there any letter/stamping designation to signify HO.
3) What years were these manifolds used on?
Both my jeeps have the 4.7 ('99 & '00) and I'm wondering if the time/effort is worth the return.
Thanks.

The HO manifolds pre 2003 have HO embossed on the back. 2003-2004 the 4.7 was swapped to using the same 'HO' manifolds across the board. For the guy asking for proof, Chrysler parts catalogs are widely available. There is a ton of mysticism surrounding these things, I don't understand why. They're slightly shorter and slightly less restrictive so theoretically you can achieve a performance bump but it's really minor. The HO also uses a completely different resonator, and tubing between the air box, and a completely different intake box, but I never hear anyone ask about those.

You can't disassemble these intake manifolds. Warranty issues aside, they can be cleaned effectively. I've done it. It's a process though that includes soaking, power spray rinsing, soaking, rinsing, shaking, etc., etc.

Rage! Rage against the dying of the Jeep.
