4.7 Ď08-Ď13 intake mod

Iím upgrading my 2001.

As the title suggests Iím installing the late (16 spark plug) manifold. Iíve also ordered a 70mm throttle body, the adapter plate and some 12-hole injectors. Iíll let you know how it goes. Also looking for HO cams in good shape if anyone has any!

Exactly where I got the info!

Very hard to find the intake. Looked locally for a few months and finally bought a new one off jc Whitney for $250

I think you definitely need to have the HO camshafts to make the swap worth the time and effort.
I like Martins youtube videos, good clear advice on whats involved and how to do it. and what NOT to do, like when he was polishing the magnesium valve covers

Itís piece by piece.

As of now everything is on hold. Got an email from JC Whitney today telling me theyíre out of stock despite their website listing two in stock. Now Iím back to square one.

That part supersedes to new part numbers several times. I show the latest version as being available with no delay. Is this the JC Whitney listing/pricing?:

Yes, but it was $246.33 in the previous listing. I did the same thing ordered on 3/28, got a call saying it was out of stock. Now it's listed as you posted with the same "2 in stock"

'08+ cams will be easier to source and will produce similar results to the HO cams.

Should be a direct swap, although HO valve springs might not be a bad idea. Quite a bit of info out there on Dakota and Durango forums.

His: '00 WJ 4.7 Limited- Some stuff

Hers: '03 WJ 4.7 Laredo- Some more stuff

Looks like Mopar raised the price substantially and caught them (and others) off guard. They likely don't keep them on the shelf but use EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to keep track of inventory levels with their suppliers. Did they cancel your order at the old price?

53034229AA is the latest part number. List price has gone way up to $752.00.

They called and emailed me. Told me the part was out of stock, canceled my order and refunded my money. I'd prefer they were just honest with me on the pricing instead of telling me it was out of stock.

Yeah, Iím actually dealing with a manager right now. I said this is their problem, not mine. We shall see. I doubt anything will come of it.
