YouTube Music + UConnect

Hello All,

I am sorry if this has already been posted. I tried to search the forums the best I could for keywords related to what I am asking, but I had no luck.

I just upgraded my UConnect to 8.4 (I believe thats the newest) for my 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited.

I also purchased a new cellphone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro) around the same time as I upgraded my Jeep.

When using YouTube Music to play songs, it used to give me the Artists Name and Song Title. Now it doesn't show anything but "Greg's Phone".

Please see attached picture.

I am not sure if its the new cell phone (Android) or the UConnect update?

It used to work fine before and showed the Artist Name and Song.

If anyone could help me out, that'd be great.

Thank you so much

Glad I found this place

Take care all

Best,

G

I had the same problem with my phone, OnePlus 6t. It is due to the nature of our phones to not send the"data" for our radios to decipher artist/song/etc. text. Sorry. Good news is, for me at least, after a year of using and a couple software updates (phone)... artist, song i.d is now shown

Thank you for the response.

Seems Spotify and Google Music work fine. Spotify it is!

Thank you!

Yeah, different phones work different, and the behavior can change from one software rev to another. IPhone 7s are noted to be finicky, but my iPhone SE and 11pro both work seamlessly. I was pleasantly surprised the other day in a Honda rental when I connected up the phone via cable for charging that the radio asked if I’d like to connect to the iPhone. It was nice viewing the car radio screen for directions instead of the SE screen

I was born to party, but I am forced to work
