Window sticker missing tow package

I bought a new 2021 WK2 Overland last weekend. It clearly has a Jeep receiver hitch on it, but no mention of that on the window sticker. I assumed it was a dealer-installed accessory that they forgot to list on the sheet along with their window tint and other stuff.

Today I pulled up the build sheet using the Jeep self service tool and it lists Trailer Tow Group IV and all the appropriate items (HD cooling, 220 amp alternator, etc). Seems really strange that Jeep is failing to include such important and valuable items anywhere on the window sticker! But I am really happy to see them on the build sheet, in case I need to tow something heavy.

I think the 4WD Overlands come standard with the tow package, so they wouldn't put it on the sticker as an option. On mine "Trailer Tow Group" was in the sticker's Standard Equipment - Functional/Safety Features list.

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory;

I have a 21 High Altitude which is essentially an Overland so I was curious enough to look at the 2021 JGC Code Guide. Yes the trailer tow group IV (code AHX) is in fact listed as standard on the 4WD Overland. However for some reason on the HA, the trailer tow group is listed on the Monroney. Oh well!

Even with the tow package unless you have a diesel engine or SRT a 220A alternator is no longer included in it. Been that way for several years now.

I have the 2020 Trailhawk, but it's standard; and I think it's the same way on the Overland along with front tow hooks. I found mine under STANDARD EQUIPMENT and then under FUNCTIONAL/SAFETY FEATURES section on the window sticker. It says Trailer-Tow Group IV.

Interesting! My build sheet shows a 220 Amp Alternator under Optional Equipment. Like many other things on the build sheet, it's nowhere on the window sticker.

Maybe mine was spec'd with this alternator for some other reason?

Totally missing from my window sticker. I keep comparing the VIN on the build sheet to the window sticker to make sure I'm not missing something, but it always looks identical.

Interesting, I've owned several Hemi equipped WK2's, the latest being a 2018 Overland with everything and couldn't get the 220 amp alternator I had in previous builds with the OEM tow package. It was no longer available in 2018 unless I got a diesel or SRT?? It's been that way for several years....... I guess they changed that for the 2021 models??
I also wanted the OEM 800CCA battery but that was also only available for Diesel builds as well.

I think a fully or near fully optioned Jeep Overland and above V8 often got a 220 amp alternator. Takes a lot of juice to run all those radars, compressors, heated seats, and play loud music..

They did pull the 220 alternator from the tow package content awhile ago..

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory;

FWIW, the new 2021 L has as the top option of a 240 amp alternator. And while that is pushing 3000 watts or more with volts over 13, the optional audio system is rated at 950 watts by itself!

Weird! You have sway control though. It seems like maybe it was an error and it was left off the window sticker. I'd refer to the build sheet based on your VIN vs the window sticker.

I wouldn't read too much into that as all WK2s have sway control, regardless. Its part of the stability software.

I had to check mine and Iím optioned like Curtiss (2020 5.7 Overland with Protech 2 group) and mine only has a 180 alt. The only differences between ours is he got A 21 with slush mats and a different color. Go figure.

The production line has been known to pull the wrong part for the jeep, steering wheels, dashes, seats .... Sometimes they catch it in QC, sometimes they just let is go.
