Let me think for a second. I did a trip through the Black Hills on gravel, except for short stretches of paved roads to meet the next gravel road. 126 miles with 4 on paved roads. Was along the boarder with Wyoming and South Dakota for most of the trip.

Next, high up in the Black Hills to find a cave.

Yesterday from Rapid City to Sheridan Wyoming to pick up a John Deere mower. First road trip that amounted to any sort of distance and first really pulling a trailer. It handled the trailer just fine. However, I figured out I rather pull trailers with my 3/4 ton pickup.

I may post up some pictures of the adventures here.

Dang, I don't know which photo is better. The first is exactly what a JGC should be seen doing, and the 2nd is the reason for the 1st. @JeepCares
^Those pictures need to be in some Jeep advertising

I'm on a Jeep Trail on the north side of the Sierra Buttes (the mountains to the right), about an hour NW of Lake Tahoe. The fishing can be good in the area, lots of little lakes, but the 4 Wheeling is always good!

@gregshaver great shot! I've heard lots of good stuff about that area... happy to see it's all true.

I just moved to SF beginning of June and always looking for camping/trail trips if you ever need more Jeep companions.

jjmagoo, we head up to the Gold Lakes area about once a summer. I'll let you know the next time we do something interesting. In the meantime, in case you didn't know, there's a great book for California 4-Wheeling, "Guide to California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails". It's a good place to start.

There are instruction in the forum help section, if not posted earlier, but you need to use an image editor to open and then save the image in the proper orientation to get the meta data straightened out.
