What's the consensus on the Mopar Max Care Warranty?

Just purchased a 2019 WK2 program vehicle (13k miles on it) and except for my currently owned TJ I owned a WJ years ago when jeeps were simpler. Now I look at my GC, see all the electronics and so forth and wonder how much $$ this would cost fix and wonder if the Mopar extended warranty was something people took advantage of and was something people took advantage of? I only do like 7k miles a year so something like an 8 yr /75k warranty is approx $1350 with $200 deductible. Must have or not worth it?

If you have air suspension its a no brainer, if not it depends on how lucky you think you are. If it has security or luxury options you may want to think about it as one of those radars are $1000 or so, the radio is over a $1000 repair. Base Laredo, maybe not. Lots of folks had it pay back three or four fold, most don't use it. It made a little more sense when they offered lifetime, but the fixed term may still be transferable. There are on line dealers that sell them at discount, Clay Robins for one, several threads with alternatives.

Ah good point. It's a Limited with the 2BH package, no air suspension. All the electronics scare my wallet. They all work great now but like you said, some of the components cost $1k.

I bought a lifetime MaxCare plan when they were still selling them last year. My reasoning was that for every Chrysler vehicle I have ever owned, an extended warranty would have paid for itself by the time I sold the vehicle. I wasn't going to take a chance with my GC, since I plan on keeping it for 10 years or more. So far, I haven't used it yet but I've only had it for a year. The same warranty has more than paid for itself on our 2013 Wrangler already.

Tom Winkels (269-488-2080) is another one who sells various MaxCare plans at a very reasonable price. The finance manager at my dealership once told me his price was below their cost when I showed him the email and asked if they would match it.

Check out all the options. You can go up to 8 years / 125,000 miles now. Since you dont drive much pick the longest one with the amount of miles you plan to drive. It should be transferable if you sell it the car.

The most common deductible Id imagine is $100 as its not much more than the $200 deductible. The $0 deductible raises the price quite a bit.

Buy it from one of the suggested online dealers. Itll be much cheaper than your local dealer Id imagine.

I second Tom Winkle. He beat everyone else's price by a large margin. We went to his office to purchase ours, and he is a really nice guy.
The dealership he works at, is a Jeep only dealership. The Dodge, Chrysler dealer is across the street.

I would add that the value of the warranty is directly proportional to the quality of the dealerships you would most likely be dealing with for any claims...........

Bought the Lifetime as soon as it was delivered. Mines equipped with air suspension and the contract is transferable here in NC if I decide to part with it. Trouble free (So far) after 5 years!

When my wife and I bought our 2016 JGC Overland in 30Sep16 we bought the Max Care Lifetime Warranty. When we bought our 2019 JGC Trail Hawk on 18Oct19 we bought a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.

I was told it was but I looked at the paperwork and it's not Max Care it's called Fidelity Platinum Warranty ten years 100,000 Miles. I am going to call my salesman and or the general manager and have a long talk.

I talked to the General Manager today. He said he would have the young man that sold me the warranty call me well long story short I had to call back I'm getting a refund and they matched the price of the warranty that Tom Winkle sells dollar for dollar. So I am getting an extended 8 year warranty 85,000 miles for $1655.00 Dollars.

Thank You @Roadijeff , for posting Tom's telephone number.

I am getting offers for extended warranties after purchasing a '19 Limited a couple of months ago. My question is why purchase it now as the factory 3yr warranty is still in effect? Do the warranty sellers up the price as the factory warranty runs out?

I think you get a loaner car allowance from FCA with maxcare, not for the base warranty. The price used to go up after 12 months in service. I may have missed something.

By the way, when you buy the FCA extended warranty, the time starts with the in service date of the Jeep, not when you purchased the vehicle.

Prices go up significantly after 12k and 24k miles - after 36k miles you also have to get an inspection. Prices for the GC have also been going up a lot as of late. I recently bought mine at 33k miles (125k/8yrs/$100deduct) and the best quotes I could get were ~$3,500. Had I bought the warranty a year ago, I'd have saved ~$1,000, so if you're thinking about getting the warranty, my suggestion is to get it now - don't wait, as you'll end up spending more money.

I got the best quotes (almost all the same) from here:
Clay Robbins - [email protected]
Tom Winkels - [email protected]
Zeigler Auto Group - www.ChryslerFactoryPlans.com (use coupon 'PAYINFULL')

Zeigler is the easiest option, as you can directly compare the quotes online.
