Spare tire kit

Hell forum,

New member.

I just purchased a used 2019 GC limited. My understanding is the spare tire is an option now? If no spare tire was purchased, should there be anything in the cargo wheel well?

There appears to be a very little options when I google search for purchase options. I am missing something in all of this?

Thank you

Are you in North America? If so, all models except SRT and TrackHawk have a spare, critical if you have 4WD. The SRT/TrackHawk have so called run flat tires.

The 18" Compact spare wheel and tire is standard on Limiteds. You should at least have a "compact " spare there.

The full size spare is standard on Trail hawks, Overlands, Summits. There are a couple Limited option packages that include full sized spare.

It was probably stollen, you may want to complain to the seller.

They do sell a OEM steel wheel (4755212AC) for like $175 MSRP but discounted sometimes to $125, then add a tire. That would make a spare kit. They used to sell one in the accessory catalog, but I don't see it now.

Thanks,

It was purchased from a non jeep dealer so couldnt do nothing about it. I saw a spare tire kit with donut and jack for $188. Sounds like it is a good deal then.

It sounds like a full size tire would fit into the spare wheel well? Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks

Its important that your spare tire be close to the same diameter as the other four or there would be some wear and tear on the drive train. A so called full size spare does fit in the wheel well, the factory full size spare is a real road tire of the same diameter but narrower than the others so it fits under the cargo floor. I’ll have to look up the tire size.

Also: The scissor-type jack and tire changing tools are located in the rear cargo area, below the load floor. These are in a styrofoam holder. There are also a couple storage bins.

The size of the spare tire that came with your Jeep is on the door jam tire placard. T would indicate temporary spare. The full size OEM spare is P245/65R18XL. A tire and wheel sized like your road tires will also fit in the well. Some of the wider tires may raise the cargo floor a bit. Some folks suff oversized tires in after removing the storage bins. Some discussion in the tire and wheel sticky threads.

I believe the spare (possibly a full-size spare) is standard if you have the factory tow package option.
