Oil leak

2012 Laredo with 150k on the odometer. It’s wet from the oil pan back to the transfer case. I wiped it down and started it up and let it run for a good 20-30 minutes. No inclination on the origin in the leak. Loses about a quart every thousand or so. What’s a common failure at this point on these vehicles, seal wise?

There have been quite a few reports of the oil fill/filter housing cracking and leaking. Not a pleasant job to replace.

I was born to party, but I am forced to work

The cartridge filter housing? All plastic I assume? My buddy did do the previous oil change on the Jeep because I was deployed. Maybe he over tightened it.

It does seem like it’s coming from the top side. The bell housing is wet as far up as I can see from underneath.
