I'm thinking I might have to do something about this some day soon. It's getting to the point that it's pushing the plastic vent thing up and it's starting to pull away in the front corners.

Unhappy Leather adashboard

I have a 2014 Overland that is garaged and I also live in San Diego so no hi heat or cold and mine is also starting to bubble up along the front edge. Also use a sun shade when parked outside. Over 5 years old so out of warranty as well.

Hi Norvim and rsorrell2,
We're sorry to hear that you are both experiencing this. Feel free to reach out to us via PM should you decide to have your dealer look into this. We'd be happy to see if there is anything we can do on our end to assist.

I have a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. I noticed the same bubbling and wrinkling defects with my leather dash 2 months after the factory warranty expired. I purchased a Mopar bumper to bumper extended warranty for 7 years. Took it to the dealership and they acknowledged they see this a lot but was told my extended warranty did not cover trim!
$4000 cost to replace but they will offer me a good faith cost of a $500 charge since the factory warrant just expired in the last two months.
The manufacturer has known about this issue and continues to install inferior materials in a $40k + vehicle.
I've owned multiple Durangos & Ram trucks for years and never had this issue.
LAST VEHICLE I'LL PURCHASE FROM CHRYSLER!

Just looked at the Maxicare contract coverage and it says nothing about the dash. Figures a known problem is not covered. I have an 18 that sits out in the hot sun. Wishful thinking would be they recall and replace them as Lexus did.

Truly hopeful @JeepCares will take care of this known defect for me!!!
Update here:

I am very happy to say that FCA stepped up and covered the cost for replacement of my dashboard (other than the taxes on the parts, which is required by law in the state of Illinois). I was very hesitant in getting into a new FCA product due to the constant unfavorable reviews and rants online about their customer service and lack of covering known issues. I can say that I am on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. From the start, here with the @JeepCares account, to the Agent, Amanda, that was assigned to my case, to my local dealership. I run a very large Audi Dealership in Chicago, and have a certain level of expectations when it comes to the service at car dealers, and my local store has gone far above my expectations.

My parts are on order and I hope to have the repair completed next week some time

Thank you again FCA and @JeepCares for making this process so simple and easy!!

Parking on the roof isn't going to help the headliner

I think there is a thread in the help section that explains how to fix the image orientation.

Kaitlin and Jericka were amazing to work with. Thank y'all so much again. For all you folks that are down about your dash, contact these folks. They are really stepping up and helping people.
Thanks again!

2011 Overland with 126K mi. Jeep Cares negotiated a $500 co-pay with my dealer, which I am happily paying. Hopefully the new dash is not prone to the issues the old one was...

Thanks for the update! It's nice to know they are somewhat standing behind the problem. Mine sits out in the hot sun in the summer it gets to at least 115 degrees inside. It's only 1 year old so time will tell!

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about FCA after this experience.

They made this process as easy as possible. @JeepCares followed up with me from start to finish to ensure the repair was in process and then completed. I am so grateful that the process as so incredibly simple. I always felt I be a Jeep owner/enthusiast for life, but after this experience I now KNOW that will be the case.
