The pictures have already been posted. I like the full LCD cluster and HUD... everything else especially the rotary shifter and Durango size can go.

L stands for long?

Wow, there are a lot of censors on this forum. Can't post the link!

Can't post pretty much anything.

I’m kind of surprised they are going with this size. I guess it fills in the gap and distinguishes it more from the regular Cherokee this way. Especially with the wagoneer coming out.

Yep, the Wagoneer is even bigger and body on frame to compete in the full size market. This I suppose, was inevitable but I don't need or want a third row or the extra wheelbase, especially off road. I would have much preferred a redo of the WK2 and left the third row stuff to the Wagoneer.

Assuming it is a Durango, it costs them almost nothing.
As for Commander/3 row. I SERIOUSLY wanted one of those when they were new, but admitted to myself it was the most stupid thing to sit in traffic with. Now that I don't do that anymore, and I wanted a versatile toy/beater to leave outside, I almost got one. But after researching, I realized the WK2 is effectively a Commander but more 2nd row room, and no back seat. Cargo is about the same as well assuming you never use the 3rd row. So research led me towards WK2 with newer stuff not out back when the Commander was around like adaptive cruise, and Quadra Lift, and now here I am with an Overland.
Kind of funny because I did consider a Durango several times over the last couple years, but I kept coming back to "Why don't they put the real 4wd from the Jeep in it" well, I guess they just did.
So how many 2021 Jeep Models will there be? (Ignoring stuff like SRT variants)
  1. Wrangler
  2. Gladiator
  3. Cherokee
  4. Compass
  5. Renegade
  6. Grand Cherokee
  7. Grand Cherokee L
  8. Grand Wagoneer

Well, I just watched it, and I gotta say, I love it.
It said "all new", so I'm guessing it is the WK3? being released in the L version first. The new tech seems amazing, heck wireless Carplay/Android Auto alone will sell a couple. Plus the overhead interior camera for families is cool. I love the HUD, have something similar in our Volvo S90. Plus hands free driving, 2' water fording, over 10" ground clearance, all good stuff. I guess there will only be 2 things wrong with it for me.
Too many of these 2 symbols $ and "

They stated there would be the two row version later this year, so it will not be left out.

I think the exterior is hideous. The chrome strip that goes above the windows into the rear quarters is horrendous. Obviously styling by committee. I’ll keep my WK2.

That's terrible. With the vertical grill, thin headlights, and flat hood it looks just like a Ford Flex. They should leave 3rd row seating to the Wagoneer.

Yes it will...

They specially state this is the Grand Cherokee L

Hence the L for long wheel base.

No different than the Escalade ESV or Yukon XL

A short wheelbase version could be interesting. The looks always grow on you over time, or at least you get used to it.
