Elm327 usb for appcar or aplphaobd?

Looking to get a cheapish elm327 usb reader that is compatible with either appcar or alphaOBD.

Really just looking for it to activate trailer lights so don’t want to buy something super expensive.

Anyone use any of the 20-30$ ones from amazon?

Looking at something like this

The ELM 327 that works with ForScan doesn’t normally work with Appcar. I attempted it, the dongle works with my Ford and ForScan. However, it doesn’t work with appcar.

I would pass on the one you linked in your post.

I would use only those recommended by the software engineers, or you will likely spend $80 on cheap stuff only to buy the $60 interface in the end.

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory;

I've used this BAFX numerous times on my RAMs, Wranglers and now Grand Cherokee with AlphaOBD with no issues and saved money from OBDLink.
