Ambiant lighting on 2019 Limited

Is this correct - the ambient lighting in the doors is only on when the doors are open? Is there an option whereby the lighting stays on like in the cupholders?

Thanks

You mean the lights in the inner door handle recesses? They stay on when the headlights are on regardless if the door is open or not... At least on my '17 its that way...

Perhaps a setting buried in the radio menus somewhere?

So anyone else with a 2019 Limited that can opine on this. Cant find anyway to control this. Makes no sense to me why these low level LEDs would go off when the door is closed. What would be the point of them?

Thanks

I have a 20 trailhawk and the ambient lighting for the cup holders, door handles and the bottle holders (cup holders in the doors) are illuminated when the doors are open or the headlights are on.

Yes, that makes sense. Not a big issue but one of those things that bugs me since it does not make sense that they go off with the door closed.

Does the overhead console ambient light work as it should? It shines on the shifter area. I'm thinking there is a setting buried in Uconnect that controls the operation. Otherwise the TIPM may be defective. You could try reseting the Jeep by removing the negative battery cable for 5 minutes.

yes, the overhead and cup holders lighting stays on.

I can try the battery cable idea I guess.

Thanks

As an aside. when I google search this issue I cam upon a Cherokee Forum with the same question on a 2020 Cherokee. Someone responded that those lights go off when the door closed. But found some other info on 2019 GC's and the light should stay on.

on my 2020 altitude, lights cup holders and door handles all stay on when the door is closed and headlights on. Gives a very cozy blue glow, love it, it should be ON!
