2020 Pink Coolant?

This kinda looked funny when I picked up my new 2020 JGC with the 3.6L. The coolant was a weird pinkish color. Not the clear pink I recall in my old 2008 300. After thinking about this, I’m wondering if something got screwed up like the dealer topped it off with HOAT as I thought the factory fill was purple. Take a look please.

The WK2 and other FCA vehicles switched to OAT in 2013, they probably don't have much HOAT around.

Dunno what you can tell by coolant colors now days. There are so many.

Violet color?

My 2012 Suzuki has blue extended life coolant.

"FLEET CHARGEģ SCA PRECHARGED Coolant / Antifreeze is the original fully formulated Supplemental Coolant Additive (SCA) pre-charged antifreeze. The patented inhibitor package provides superior protection against cavitation erosion, corrosion, and scale for all heavy duty cooling system applications."

Correct in the factory but it's the idiots at the dealer with access to all coolants that I worry about Not all dealers are bad. I love my Honda dealer and techs but just couldn't convince myself to buy a Pilot over the GC. No comparison other than the fact that they both have butt coolers which was a requirement for me.

I found this which might explain things https://www.challengertalk.com/threa...purple.443857/

I'd sure appreciate it if another new vehicle owner could post a pic of their reservoir so I could see the color.

Just remember, the "purple" color on our coolant can be actually look different inside the coolant reservoir, the best way to figure out is get some sample and put in a white paper and you will see. The same happen to you and when i did that test it was purple. Any way it was the time to flush and put some new coolant, when i was draining it looks purple.

My 2014 3.6 used pink coolant.

I bought some extra from the dealer to fill up and that was pink too.

Interesting...Depending on the light source and viewing angle the coolant looks orange, pink or purple. This is probably due to metamarism which is a change in color due to different light sources and the presence of some soft brown particulates, possibly stop leak, which I recall seeing that is sometimes added at the factory but not in any vehicle I have ever owned. Unfortunately the dealer I bought the vehicle from is 2.5 hrs away so Iíll ask the local dealer about this.

I sent an email with these pics to the salesperson I bought the vehicle from asking him to check with the service dept. He responded immediately saying he was off and would check when he gets back to work tomorrow. Gotta love excellent customer service!

I did my thermostat a months ago and mine was more pink than yours looks, I wonder if someone added a little bit of another color to it.

It looks orange when I look at the reservoir but it isn’t definitely pink when I pour it.

Looks like someone put V8 vegetable juice in that cooling system.
