2014 Jeep WK2 Limited

Hi,

I just purchased a 2014 WK2 Limited.

I have a couple questions:

1) The license plate bulbs are burned out? How could this happen? Aren't LEDs supposed to last super long?
2) The center console hinge is disconnected? How do I fix that?

Thanks,
Christian

I would take it back to the dealership you purchased it from and ask them to make the repairs. At minimum the center console, I think the license plate lights will be an easy fix..

Is the Led Lamp an easy fix? How much does it cost?

I don't think the LED license bulbs are socketed. You may have to buy the entire appliqué at about $200. I would look for a bad connection, or think about having the place you purchased repair it.

You may also have to replace the entire console to fix the lid.

Some people think I'm stupid and I totally disagree. But my biggest fear is that me thinking I'm smart proves them right.....

Easy fix, not cheap... kit is 68360247AA and will cost about $110. Dealer will charge close to $200 to do it.

Oh yeah, the so called wire harness that comes with the LEDs, not the appliqué.

The right license plate bulb has brown around the circuit. The left one looks fine.

I don't understand the harness issue. Why can't I just purchase the bulbs themselves?

Is there a part number for the bulbs not for the entire harness.

As mentioned before, the LEDs themselves are not individually socketed, they are soldered to the wires in the harness. The little harness has a plug that plugs into the body harness. If you are handy, you may be able to remove the LEDs and solder new ones onto the wires, if you can find equivalents.

How do I know if the harness is bad? The right led has a burn mark but the left one doesn't. Is there a place where I can just buy the two led assemblies not the harness. I took it out and seems like you can unplug the assembly.

Jeep probably calls the part you call an assembly, a wire harness, not cheap. Check the diagram in the moparpartsonline link above and compare the diagram with your assembly.

If I somehow get the bulbs, will the LEDs blow instantly when I plug them in?

Also, does anyone have instructions on how to replace the wiring harness?
