2011 Overland Stalling Out

Hi all:

My 2011 with 200,000 miles has stalled out maybe a dozen times unexpectedly while driving. No warning lights. Nothing. Just completely dies. It's happened when I'm driving 40mph down the road and it's happened just backing out of the driveway. I'd say I've been dealing with this problem for 12-18 months. I haven't taken it into the dealer yet because it's so random, I drive mostly locally, I don't want to send them on a goose chase and spend $$$ in the process, and I think it might be hard to diagnose. But I think I need to deal with it now.

If anyone has any thoughts it would be great to hear them.

Here are a few more details:

1) Completed recall P54 Fuel Pump Relay in January.
2) By switching to key start (and removing push button), the problem was resolved for a good 4-5 months or so. Maybe just a coincidence but I thought it might've fixed the problem for quite a while. Darn!
3) I can usually restart the vehicle and continue on without problems if I remove key and let it sit for a good 15-30 min or so before restarting. Think I've noticed smell of fuel once or twice when I do this. If I try to start it immediately after stalling it only turns over.
4) When it dies, I lose everything, no power steering, etc. The lights that come on at that point are FCW and check engine. I've cleaned the FCW in front. Doesn't seem to make a difference.
5) Had a problem preceding all of this that was a start/stall problem. I'd start the car and it would die immediately. If I didn't turn off all systems and remove key at that point it wouldn't restart. It would just turn over. So I had to turn off, remove key, and then engage again and it would start right back up no problem. Never had problems with car stalling while driving in that situation. Wonder if it's progressed or something because I don't think I ever had that looked into or fixed.

Thanks for any ideas or help!

There is a stalling thread indexed in the Maintenance/Repair sticky thread.

Sounds like a WIN module thing.

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory;

Thank you! I will check out the thread and make note of the WIN module for the mechanic to check out.
