13 humming noise?

Any thoughts on a constant humming, seems to be getting louder. Just had tires rotated and no change, guys checked bearings, they think it is tire noise, running Dueler AT and never had any noise issues with the last 2 sets.

Would a transfer case make noise like that, steady droning sound, louder at higher speeds.

Any suggestions before I take it back for inspection?

What is the proper fluid for the transfer case, has not been changed, 140k

My wife even commented on it, so you know something is wrong!

A growl or drone is typically one bearing or another. I had a rear wheel bearing drone, which confused the heck out of us until it just got bad enough. Any exhaust restriction?

Which transfercase? Is anything wet underneath, were the fluid levels checked? Any debris on the driveshaft? What about drive shaft joints, those usually vibrate at a specific speed, however. Could one or more of the drivetrain mounts be worn, enough that more noise is getting into the body? The WK2 body is more susceptible to drone than most. Are the CV flange screws tight?

Everyone seems to blame tires but are they cupped, can you borrow another set of wheels/tires?

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory;

Now saying both front wheel bearing assemblies, gave them a hard time and they are discounting labor since they had just done the brakes last week and I asked them to check the noise out.

Pisses me off having to go back but I can walk there so not a huge problem, so hopefully all is quiet after this fix. I have had good luck with this shop but the one mechanic who figured out a phantom noise 3 other shops could not is no longer there.

Mine made it 141k, both changed, crazy how loud they got, forgot how quiet the jeep rode, you know it's bad when the wife goes for a ride and says what is that noise!
