Less than famous bands......

I have just started merging from mainstream Alt Rock/ Ale Metal into more and more less than famous bands.
I'm always looking for new tunes, so I figured I'd post up some ones I've found recently and see what I can get back from the thread.

The main ones I'm listening to: (their name is a link to their MySpace)

Diecast (Metal/Metalcore)- Saw them open up for Sevendust, bought the cd and a T-shirt at the concert, never looked away. Right now I only have Internal Revolution, but I plan on buying Tearing Down Your Blue Skies and Day of Reckoning , Undo the Wicked, if I can find it. I know they catch some **** from not having any original members, but I still love em. Paul and Dennis are cool as hell, talked to both of them after their show.

Fav Songs- The Coldest Rain, Fade Away, Nothing I Could Say, Rise and Oppose, Fractured

XFactor1 (Metal) - A little newer in the game, saw them opening for Diecast and have been back to see them a few times, they are in Cleveland at least every other month. Cool group of guys, said if I road trip down to Columbus, they'd put me up in the tour bus for a night to come party. I have their first cd, Live Another day, I'm buying their new disk, American Dream on 9/13 when they come back to Cleveland.

Fav Songs- Blood Red Monday, Shadow Of Desperation, Never, Live Another Day

EkoTren (Metal/Hardcore)- Opened for Diecast at the same show as XF1. No disks yet, but I'm diggin "Light The Fire"

Fav song- Light The Fire

All Visions Red(Alt Metal)- No tunes out yet, I added the lead vocalist (Brian Burke) because I was diggin his old band's(Avain9)song Games

please feel free to add them.

Help me find some more tunes to throw on the playlist.

And Just because, My MySpace If you add me, just put JF in the message box.

I enjoyed Billy Talent, they played at an MCR concert, and aren't very widely known at least around here anyway.

A little Funky for my taste, not bad, something I'll listen to once in a while for a change of pace. Kinda like a cross of Reggae and Punk

Old Crow Medicine Show - Bluegrass

Black Stone Cherry - Rock

The last two listed are local to my state (KY)

Modest Mouse
Black Mountain
Buck 65
Wintersleep

And It's nice to see someone else listens to Old Crow Medicine Show

JRussum 07-15-2008 08:55 AM

Fair To Midland

pretty cool progressive/alternative/metal band

The Rat 07-15-2008 09:38 AM

Cold War.

From Russia With Love is far superior to their more recent Espionage Made Easy.

I don't have myspace so don't expect links from me.

ace5ja 07-15-2008 09:45 AM

I saw Black Stone Cherry live in Evansville last year...good show.

How are Evans Blue and Modest Mouse not famous? Evans Blue gets TONS of airtime around here BUT they are pretty good

I also like Fair to Midland...good band

Try "Deliver Us From Evil" ...pretty decent local metal band. should be on Myspace under the same name

ras2001wj 07-15-2008 01:32 PM

Black stone cherry, and E/B are huge ere too.
